1. How do you feel about graduating?
I am very happy and relieved that I managed to get through these 4 years. It may come off as trivial or easy to others but there are ups and downs. I have gained and lost as well. I am very grateful for all those who have helped me throughout my degree life. Now I can look back and be proud for what I have achieved.
2. What are you going to do after this? What’s your plan?
I am keeping my options open at the moment. If there’s any chance to land a job or even to further my study, I’ll accept the challenge. For now I am actively looking through job and scholarship opportunities. Either way, both will help to boost my experience and knowledge.
3. Have you got any job offer?
Currently I am a fellow candidate for Teach for Malaysia fellowship program. It’s a 2-year fellowship program where high potential undergraduate student will be placed in high needs school across the country to serve as teacher. A lot of people have been asking “why am I applying to become a teacher instead of looking for a more related job?” I don’t see this opportunity as a shortcut to be a teacher but rather a look on what I will gain out of this program. I believe that I will learn a lot from teaching and build my leadership, communication and human skill. I highly recommend for those who is currently a final year student or anyone currently working but at the same time is looking for such opportunity. Head on to their website at http://www.teachformalaysia.org/
4. Which you prefer? Stay in Kuala Lumpur or go back to your hometown at Sabah?
Although I really enjoy staying at my own place in Kuala Lumpur, I honestly don’t really mind. It depends on whether I am being offered a job or not. I don’t mind moving out to another place because I think it would be another experience. To me it’s refreshing to be able to mingle and get used to another environment. I always keep in mind that to be able to grow, you must get out of your comfort zone and explore other possibilities. You never know
5. Are you going to further your study or work first?
With the current situation, I think it’s best for me to find job experience first. This will help me to get use to career life before re-entering student life. I want to be able to relate both and with these experiences, I believe it will help me to progress further. Looking back to how clinical attachment was like, I really enjoyed it. I wish it would be longer because I love social interactions.
So far, I am ecstatic to finally and officially graduate from National University of Malaysia with a Bachelor degree of Science in Dietetics with honours.
Good luck dear classmates on your future endeavors!
